Our Story
Born between the Peloritani and the Nebrodi mountains. Raised among wheels of pecorino, barrels of oil and deli counters.

A shop in the truest sense of the word!
Bottega dei Due Monti was born from a simple idea: to bring beyond Sicily what Sicilians bring home when they return from their hometown.
Not “typical” products packaged for tourists. Not glossy labels with postcard landscapes. Real products, made by real people, in places you know by heart if you grew up there.
The name comes from the two mountains that define our land: the Peloritani to the east, the Nebrodi to the west. In between, a land that does not make the news but produces extraordinary things – cheeses aged in stone caves, cured meats from black pigs raised in the woods, extra virgin olive oil from centuries-old groves
Dal 1970, di generazione in generazione
It all begins in Braidi, a hamlet on the Nebrodi highlands. Not a place you will find on tourist maps. A place where the black pig grazes in the woods, where pecorino ages in stone caves, where bread is still baked in a wood-fired oven.
It is 1970 when Giuseppa and her husband Carmelo open the first deli in the Braidi countryside and call it Bottega dei Due Monti. Not just any shop: a personal selection, producer by producer, flavour by flavour.
In 1988 the mantle passes to Biagio and Mirella. In 2006 the second shop opens in Capo d’Orlando, at Via Piave 59. Three generations, one single criterion: no compromise on quality.

Quello in cui crediamo per davvero
Uncompromising craftsmanship
Solo produttori che lavorano con le mani, non con le macchine. Se il sapore cambia da un anno all’altro, è perché la stagione era diversa – ed è una cosa buona.
Short and transparent supply chain
We know who made each product, where and how. We have no middlemen. The price you pay goes almost entirely to the producer.
Spedizione curata come un regalo
Imballiamo ogni ordine a mano.

We select. We don’t distribute.
Every producer you find in this bottega is someone we have met in person. We have been to the dairies, the stables, the olive mills. We have tasted, asked questions, debated.
We do not work with those who chase volume. We work with those who do things well – even if they produce little, even if they do not have a website, even if they only answer the phone in the afternoon because in the morning
they are out in the fields.
That means some things are only available in season. That Maiorchino runs out when it runs out. That baked ricotta arrives fresh and cannot wait. But it also means what you receive is authentic. And you can taste it.

The territory as value
The Nebrodi are not a location. They are the reason we exist. A mountain range that produces extraordinary things – and that almost never makes the news. Forests where the black pig grows free. Pastures where the sheep give a different milk. Centuries-old olive groves. High-altitude vineyards. All this risks disappearing if there is no one to tell its story, to bring it out, to build an economy around it. Bottega dei Due Monti is also this: a way of keeping a territory alive. Every online order is a small vote for the Nebrodi producers. Every shop open in an Italian city is an outpost of that land in the world.
